With a combination of exposed stone, white walls and decorated in tones of blue, greens, silver and gold, Charente is our 2 bed, 2 bathroom gite and will instantly remind you of the calm water of the river Charente or the sea .

Completely renovated in 2019, this is a breathtaking home from home. 95m2 in size and set out on the one ground floor level, enter into the double height open plan living/ dining area with chandelier.

With wooden parquet flooring throughout, the living area has exposed stone walls on 2 sides with a fully equipped kitchen, breakfast bar with high stools and long dining table with 6 chairs. Perfect for chatting over a glass of wine whilst preparing some great French food. Immediately off the living area, is your own private day garden with table and chairs.

You also have your own private dining table and chairs in the front courtyard.

The lounge area has a lovely super comfy sofa from which you can enjoy French, International and English TV, DVDs & Amazon PRIME. There is a choice of board and card games. A further offer is available in the covered barbecue area.

Leading off from the living area are the 2 large bedrooms with king size beds and ensuite bathrooms with Italian showers, double sink units and electric towel heaters. Each bed can be split into 2 large singles upon request. All bed linen, towels including pool towels and dressing gowns are provided including a hairdryer and toiletries in each bathroom.

During the gloriously hot Summer months, you can cool off inside as there are fans in the living area and all bedrooms.

If staying in the cooler months, there is central heating and also a gas wood effect burner.

Prices per night - 160 - 190 euros.

Stay tax - As we are 4 star classified with the French tourist board, stay tax per night per adult is 1,80 euros.

Best gîte we have ever stayed!

We stayed in many beautiful holiday homes over the years, but this gîte truly stands out as the most complete we've ever experienced: the property has absolutely everything you could possibly need and more! From the fantastic swimming pool and a fully equipped gym to a football field and pétanque court, there was no shortage of activities to keep our family entertained! A real highlight was the wonderful hospitality of Kev and Barb: their warm welcome made us feel right at home, and the daily delivery of fresh croissants was such a lovely touch! The surrounding area is also fantastic for cycling, and we especially appreciated the route (between the Cognac vineyards!) Kev mapped out for our sporty kids – it was perfect for them😉 Overall, our stay was absolutely fantastic!
